Candidasa sits on Bali's eastern coast in the Karangasem Regency, a stretch of coastline built around a small fishing village long before the resort development on the island's south. The estate faces the ocean and the Nusa islands at sunrise, with the region's mountains, including Mount Agung, framing the coastline behind it. Where Bali's southern hubs have grown into dense strips of hotels, bars, and traffic, Candidasa has kept its pace closer to what it always was, a quieter coastal town with a coral reef offshore, a handful of traditional villages inland, and considerably fewer visitors passing through. Ngurah Rai International Airport sits around 62 kilometres away, with every transfer arranged directly by the estate.

That location puts couples within easy reach of East Bali's landmarks, most within a short drive:

• Tenganan Village: one of Bali's oldest traditional villages, around 10 minutes from the estate, home to the Bali Aga people and known for its ancient customs and traditional double ikat weaving, a technique found in only a few places in the world.
